HUCK'S ALOOF AND UNATTAINABLE MOUNTAIN O' ANGST: Former Links of the Week for 1998

FORMER LINKS OF THE WEEK

WEEK	WHAT	COMMENTS
Links Of The Week For 1998
#1	BECAUSE NOBODY LIKES JOHN TESH	Television Gossip Magazine Icon, Pseudo artsy fartsy space jazz wannabe or pathetic Olympic Gymnastics announcer, whatever hat he wears make no mistake that it looks like crap on him.
#2	HOW TO MAKE A 7-11 EMPLOYEE'S LIFE HELL	There is nothing I hate more than when you tell a 7-11 lackey that the slurpees are not freezing and they tell you "That is the way a slurpee is supposed to be".
#3	101 USES FOR AOL DISKS	Everybody has gotten one of these in the mail before. Check out what you can use them for since you definetly dont want them in your floppy drive.
#4	BEER COASTERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD	I am not a big beer drinker but I used to collect beer cans when I was a kid. If I ever find a beer can collecting page IT WILL make it on here.
#5	WAVY GRAVY	Uh...hmmm..Well, I did have a site up called "DOWN WITH THE HIPPIES" that kinda exsposed Jerry Garcia for the heroin overdosing junkie that he was BUT that site went down within the week. (A first for the Mountain O' Angst) So, we went with the official site for Wavy Gravy (The guy who stood on the stage at Woodstock and basically was the poster child for chemical abuse in the 60's)
#6	PENN AND TELLER'S SIN CITY	Penn and Teller are the self proclaimed Bad Boys of Magic. These guys are cool, unlike that dork David Copperfield.
#7	PRESIDENTIAL KNEEPADS	The Ultimate He Said - She Said...Does anybody, with the possible exception of the media and Hillary really care?
#7	THE AMBIGUOUSLY GAY DUO	This cartoon is THE ONLY GOOD THING ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE anymore. (Besides an occasional appearance by a cool musician)
#8	THE CHURCH OF THE SUBGENIUS	This is the page for Bob Dobbs and his church. He angsts for your slack, my slack, their slack.....world wide slack. See what all the slack is about.
#9	THE SOY BOMB MANIFESTO	The Soy Bomb Nation wishes to hang Hanson by their ankles in a Turkish Prison, have all prints of the movie Titanic burned and replaced by Evil Dead 2 and "reclaim the media from the corprorate cheese mongers". We here at the Mountain O' Angst support these demands but reject the name of their movement. Dorks....
#10	THE CHALK LINES DEAD POOL	Betting on people dieing like you were kicking in for the NCAA Tourney Office Pool....This site is morbid, wrong, disturbing and something all of you black lipstick wearing death mongers will bookmark.
#11	WWWF GRUDGE MATCH	This is a fairly well known web site for its humor. Where else are you gonna see commentary on the legendary battle of those well known gladiators, Ray Charles vs Stevie Wonder? NOBODY EVER SAID THE MOUNTAIN O' ANGST IS POLITICALLY CORRECT SO DON'T BOTHER WITH THE E-MAIL ANGST WARRIOR!
#12	MR CRANKY'S RATES THE MOVIES	This is one of the funniest sites I have ever seen for just pure mean spirited humor. Movies reviewed from the locker room where female reporters are scared.
#13	EAST SIDE vs SOUTH PARK SIDE	See what would happen if The Notorious B.I.G. and Puff Daddy had ever been whack enough to try and throw down with Jiggy Cartman and his South Park Posse. Word to your Mother, Angst Homey.
#14	THE SMOKING GUN	This site is a nice little angst engine, shamelessly groveling in celebrity and politicians dirty laundry to bring you the "truth". Enquiring minds want to angst.
#15	ANGST-O-MATIC	Having trouble communicating your message of doom, angst muse? Click here to the Angst-O-Matic to computer generate your message of abyss for all to see. You need to know what a noun, adjective and a verb are. Good Luck
#16	GREAT MOBILE HOMES OF MISSISSIPPI	Ah....another great piece of angsting americana! A museum of double wide greatness, set in the heart of KKK land!
#17	U.S. SPEED TRAPS	SPEEDING TICKETS CAUSE ANGST! This site chronicles every state and gives a detailed guide of where known speed traps are and how to beat them. Web Space Used Wisely!
#18	THE DROP SQUAD	The Drop Squad is a bunch of guys that go to RPI that like to drop stuff off of the dorm and film and take pictures of the objects as they hit the ground. Janitor angst...
#19	THE SOUP NAZI HEADQUARTERS	If I ever go to New York and have a chance I will visit the Soup Nazi just to watch him get pissed off, well..one day I will order the soup right and the next day i will piss him off.
#20	SLURPEE SHRINE	There are few things, if any, that I enjoy more than a properly frozen cherry slurpee. I angst when I go to a 7-11 and they do not have cherry in their machines
#21	GIVE ME A DOLLAR	This guy claims to be homeless and wants you to give him cash. I will give him credit for his shameless monetary methods.
#22	I HATE McDONALDS	Personally I don't "hate" McDonalds...their stock is fantastic so they do have a redeeming value. But their food has gotten gross, small in portions and overpriced. And that scam about 99 cent sandwiches with the purchase of fries and a large drink when they raised the price of fries and drinks, rubbed me the wrong way.
#23	THE 1998 FIFA WORLD CUP	Of course I am an American and we suck at soccer. We are so horrible we even gave the sport a different name so we could use the name football for a sport that only our country plays. We get beat regularly by countries one-tenth our size. That's angst..
#24	THE DRIVE IN THEATRE	Once again I use one of my summer pick links of the week to try and exspose people to the fact the Drive In Movie Theatres are DIEING and that is A BAD THING.
#25	THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE TO RELATIONSHIPS	Personally I am in agreement with Tommy Lee Jones in Men In Black: "It is better to have love and lost then never loved at all.." "Yeah...try it."
#26	A GIRL'S GUIDE TO GEEK GUYS	The last thing you will ever hear me call myself is a computer geek. Although though most I have encountered would rather be in the company of a good unix guide to that of an attractive woman, this is a guide for ladies to land that geek guy and make him hers.
#27	FONTS FOR THE ADDICT	It may not be the message that impresses the masses but the way the message looks. If you need to hide the substance or lack of it behind the decore, Fonts for the Addict has THOUSANDS of different styles of letterings to make your message more impressive looking than it probably is standing alone.
#28	THE TAMAGOTHI HOMEPAGE	Grow your own little angsting goth creature at the Tamagothi Homepage. Yes even you, angst farmer, can have your own little garden of good and evil....without the good of course.
#29	WHO WOULD YOU KILL	Sometimes the angst piles up too high and you need to take out the aggression of the day. Who Would You Kill gives you a chance for a little cyber pay back on unsuspecting casts of popular television series. Try to be original and whack someone besides Kenny.
#30	DIDJA KNOW	5 statements listed daily....only one of them is true...you try to pick which are the lies and which is the truth. The truth is angsting.....
#31	RED ROCKS AMPITHEATRE	I have never been there but I want to go see a concert there someday. Not Marylin Manson of course but maybe some other show.
#32	I HATE BILL GATES	Personally I dont hate Bill Gates, I use alot of his stuff. It seems to me that people that say that they hate Microsoft are just trying to be part of the cliquishe "LEET" crowd. Whatever...
#33	THE LITTLE LEAGUE WORLD SERIES	People sent me e-mail asking me why I picked this as a link of the week. Youth sports is a great thing for children but it brings out the worst in parents. The younger the children, the worse the parents act. That's angst.
#34	SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK	I received full credit on the essay part of an exam in goverment 101 at Texas Tech because I remembered the words to "I'm Just A Bill". I have never been able to decide if that spoke volumes for School House Rock, volumes about my television watching or volumes about the political science departments of our institutions of higher learning.
#35	THE GARDEN OF ORIGAMI	I had an ex girlfriend that was very good with origami, which always impressed me very much. I never really told her how impressed I was with her skill in origami but I think she could tell anyway. She was probably unimpressed that I was so impressed.
#36	ROCK'EM SOCK'EM ROBOTS	Ok..maybe you cant appreciate this...or maybe you dont remember this but I PROMISE you my mom remembers Rock'em Sock'em Robots. It was a source of angst for all mothers in the 60's, 70's and 80's.
#37	THE PSYCHADELIC SIXTIES	A war that killed millions of men, an under-30 population on acid but calling it love, cultural icons overdosing on those celebrated drugs, race riots, bigotry, oppression, assasinations of political and spiritual leaders, with the proclaimed pinnacle event of the era being three days of naked people rolling around in the mud like pigs. See what was so great about the Psychadelic Sixties. Then e-mail me and tell me....cause I don't get it.
#38	THE NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE	Ice Hockey is the greatest game in the world. The National Hockey League is the greatest hockey league in the world..ergo this is the greatest sports link in the world.
#39	THE OFFICIAL ROCK SCISSORS PAPER STRATEGY GUIDE	I never win rock, scissors, paper games. Even reading this page front to back, I still do not win. But I am the King of the coin flip....
#40	TASTE THE PAIN	Anybody that has ever eaten a meal with me knows how much I love hot sauce, the hotter the better. I am one of the few people I know who can ingest incredibly hot, spicey food and not have the unpleasant side effects.
#41	HOW 'BOUT THEM CRYBOYS	I live in Dallas, I love the Dallas Cowboys. This guy hates them so much he has chronicled EVERY Cowboys' loss in history. Incredible...
#42	TROUT	Trout is pearls of wisdom dispensed on a vast array of subjects. I was especially moved by the commentary on the sport of nascar.
#43	POLITICALLY INCORRECT	I used to watch this show when it was on the Comedy Channel all of the time. It has moved to ABC and toned down a bit but it is still a great show.
#44	NFL.COM	Ok, a few of you may be asking where the angst is with this site. Well...YOU run a Fantasy Football League that is second to none and YOU listen to people quit because they do not get their way and you will see plenty of angst. Grown Ups acting like children.
